Andrea Regan

CAA

Andrea Lupinetti Regan, MSA, M.Sc., CAA, is a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant with over three decades of clinical experience, including a distinguished tenure at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Recently, Andrea relocated to Orlando, Florida, to help establish Nova Southeastern University’s fifth Anesthesiologist Assistant Program, working alongside an exceptional team of AAs, many of whom were pioneers in the Orlando area. She is also currently practicing at Winnie Palmer Hospital, part of the Orlando Health System. Andrea specializes in cardiac and obstetric anesthesia and is passionate about advancing the anesthesiologist assistant profession, improving patient safety, and enhancing the quality of care. She serves as an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences, where she mentors future generations of AAs. An active member of the APSF Clinical Deterioration Committee since 2022, Andrea is also a certified BLS/ACLS instructor affiliated with an AHA training center in Jacksonville. Her research contributions include a study on proactive management of intraoperative hypotension in preeclamptic women undergoing cesarean sections using ClearSight hemodynamic monitoring, presented at the 2020 ASA Annual Meeting and published in collaboration with Edwards Lifesciences. Additionally, she co-investigated innovative, less-invasive treatments for post-dural puncture headaches, presented at the 2022 ASA Annual Meeting. Andrea graduated from the Case Western Reserve University CAA Program in 1993 and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Health Sciences at Nova Southeastern University. Guided by the mantra, “Do what you love and call it work,” Andrea is dedicated to shaping the future of anesthesia care while providing exceptional patient care in her clinical practice

Bradley Hansen

Dr. Bradley Hansen is an anesthesiologist at US Anesthesia Partners in Orlando, Florida. He specializes in liver failure and craniectomy. Education and training: Graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 2014 Completed an internship in surgery at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health from 2014–2015 Completed a residency in anesthesiology at University of Utah Health from 2014–2018 Licenses and certifications: Texas State Medical License (2019–2026), Utah State Medical License (2015–2026), Florida State Medical License (2021–2025), Washington State Medical License (2014–2015), and American Board of Anesthesiology certification. Cole Dooley

MD, UF Health

My name is Cole Dooley, MD, and I joined the Department of Anesthesiology as an assistant professor in the Divisions of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine in 2015. I earned my medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, IL, and completed a transitional internship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, before coming to the University of Florida to complete my residency. Following that, I completed my fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital UAMS in Little Rock, AR. I’m an active member of a number of professional organizations, including the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. I’ve completed medical mission trip work in Latin America for cleft lip and palate repair and am an authorized Spanish language interpreter here at UF. In my free time, I like to cook, travel, and read. I’m also a founder of a local non-profit and dedicate a lot of time to fundraising for pediatric cancer research in memory of my daughter.

David Hutchinson

Staff anesthesiologist at both Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, and University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, with a focus on difficult airway management techniques, neuro-anesthesia, and advanced ultrasound.

Dean Cirilla

Douglas Thompson

Dr. Thompson completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of California San Diego followed by his Medical Doctorate at the University of California San Diego. He completed his Anesthesiology residency at the University of Colorado in Denver followed by his fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine). Dr. Thompson started his career at Seattle Children’s Hospital where he served as the Fellowship Director for Pediatric Anesthesiology. Most recently Dr. Thompson comes to us from Washington University in St. Louis where he served as the Residency Program Director for the Department of Anesthesiology, the Vice-Chair of Education for the Department of Anesthesiology and had an interim position as the Vice-Chair for Clinical Operations. Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology with certifications in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology, Dr. Thompson also serves as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology and currently serves as the Chair for the Department of Anesthesiology at Nemours Children’s Healthcare Jacksonville Florida.

Haley Cook is a dedicated professional working in pediatric anesthesia at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. After earning a degree from South University Savannah campus in 2021, she has focused on providing exceptional care to her young patients. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, tackling home renovation projects, and spending quality time with their two beloved dog

Isaac Luria

MD, UF Health

Isaac Luria MD is an assistant professor of anesthesiology in the division of regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine at the University of Florida. He has degrees in physics and materials science and engineering and conducts research and development in the field of medical simulation.

John Stillings

John Heinbockel

John A Heinbockel MD MSEE FASA is a clinical assistant professor of anesthesiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He specializes in neuroanesthesia, trauma, and transplantation. Laura Cavallone

I attended medical school and specialized in Anesthesia, Analgesia and Intensive Care at the Università degli Studi di Milano in Milan, Italy. After practicing in Italy for several years, I moved to the U.S. with my family and joined Washington University in St. Louis as a Visiting Professor in 2004. Subsequently, I obtained the U.S. medical license, the Board Certification in Anesthesiology, and a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at Washington University in St. Louis.In 2019, I became Vice-Chair of Research of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Later in July 2021, I joined the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care of the University of Chicago as Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Director of Anesthesia for ENT and head and neck procedures.My main clinical areas of interest are difficult airway management and the perioperative care of ENT and Head and Neck surgical patients. I have studied difficult airway management from a patient safety and quality perspective, and I have participated in collaborative projects with colleague members of the Society for Head and Neck Anesthesia aimed at drafting consensus statements on the perioperative management of complex head and neck procedures.

Mark Leonard

CAA,AA, Nova Southeastern University

Mark Leonard is one of only two mid-level anesthesia providers certified to work in the USA and UK, and currently the only one working in the United States. He joined the faculty at Nova Southeastern University's (NSU) Anesthesiology Assistant program in Tampa, in July 2018 as an Assistant Professor. He is originally a graduate from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, Physicians’ Assistant in Anaesthesia (PA(A)) program, now called Anaesthesia Associates (AA) class of 2008. After graduation, Professor Leonard practiced as a PA(A) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, a 44 OR university teaching hospital, alongside over 100 attending anaesthesiologists, and close to 100 resident anaesthesiologists. Mark Leonard has a long history of teaching physicians, PA(A)s, AA’s and many other OR related professions, and sharing the knowledge he has gained from his clinical experience. After qualification he helped developed one of the busiest ultrasound guided regional anesthesia block rooms in the United Kingdom, as well as a fast response block service to attend areas such as ED and ICU. Mark Leonard is committed to education in the field of regional anaesthesia. He has co-developed the Block GuRU App and educational posters which are distributed around the world. He has delivered teaching programs, lectures and other teaching materials all in the field of regional anaesthesia for parties across the globe. He has taught and lead many regional anaesthesia workshops around the world as well as publishing data from his hospital in the UK promoting the regional anaesthesia services delivered by his team. Dr Robert Wagner, the Associate Dean and Chair of the department of anesthesia recruited Mr Leonard from the UK to become faculty at NSU. Students from NSU’s AA programme have the option to apply for a senior clinical rotation in the UK where Mark Leonard helped to setup up a two-month rotation training in England and Wales. Six students per year were selected for this prestigious rotation where they would gain great experience in the ultrasound and awake regional anesthesia. Dr Wagner wanted to extend this expertise to all of the AA students across Tampa and Ft Lauderdale so encouraged Mr Leonard to move with his family to the US. On arrival to the states Mark took a position as assistant professor whilst also preparing for his board exams in the US, to gain qualification as a certified anaesthesiologist assistant. Mark has taken on the role of laboratory simulation director as well as director of clinical ultrasound and regional anesthesia. He is based at the Tampa Bay regional campus but travels to Ft Lauderdale and Jacksonville to deliver teaching sessions. He is currently practicing as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) in Trinity, Florida, alongside his academic role at NSU. Mark Leonard lives in Odesa, Florida with his wife and two children, he has two older children living back in the UK. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family where they love to visit the beaches of Tampa and fishing the fantastic lakes, piers and coastlines around the wider Tampa area.

Sarah Whitfield

Sarah Whitfield is a practicing Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant and an experienced educator. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Georgia and graduated with highest honors from Emory University’s Anesthesiologist Assistant program in 2018.After two years at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, Sarah relocated to Savannah to teach at South University’s AA program, where she focused on airway management and anesthesia pharmacology courses. Additionally, she served a two-year term as a board member for the Georgia Association of Anesthesiologist Assistants (GAAA).Currently, Sarah works at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA, where she serves as a clinical preceptor. Steven Bradley

Dr. Steven Bradley is a Critical Care Anesthesiologist and Certified Healthcare Ethics Consultant. He completed Residency and Fellowship at The University of Chicago Medical Center and two years of training with the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics. As a Navy veteran, his clinical practice has included a 5-month humanitarian aid deployment on the USNS Comfort hospital ship, and a month practicing at Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay.Dr. Bradley is currently an Assistant Member at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine at USF Morsani College of Medicine. His research interests include perioperative healthcare disparities, ethical implementation of AI in healthcare, and complex medical decision making.

T. Everett Jones

My name is Everett Jones, MD, and I am an assistant professor in the UF Department of Anesthesiology. I joined the department in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia in 2018. I earned my medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, and completed both my anesthesiology residency and Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship here at the University of Florida. I enjoy teaching our residents, fellows, and medical students and was honored to receive UF College of Medicine Exemplary Teacher Awards in 2020 and 2022.

Tim Feldheim

Dr. Timothy V. Feldheim is a medical physician, board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. His clinical and research interests include cancer pain management, perioperative pain control in chronic and malignant pain patient populations, and central and peripheral neuromodulation for pain control. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He then completed his anesthesia residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, FL, followed by his pain medicine fellowship at Case Western University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH.
